Auckland-headquartered health IT vendor Orion Health has developed a virtual care pandemic outbreak monitoring platform to be released this week at no cost to customers in what it believes is a world first.

The virtual care solution will allow patients and healthcare workers who have been exposed to the coronavirus and are quarantined at home to download an app to their mobile device or access through their browser through which they can communicate with their healthcare provider and have their condition monitored.
