A concept for a shared pre-operative workbench submitted by an anaesthetist and the development of a telehealth application for monitoring tuberculosis treatment have taken out the top prizes in the 2016 Clinicians Challenge, presented at the Health Informatics New Zealand (HiNZ) conference in Auckland last night.
Mark Fisher (pictured), an anaesthetist at Counties Manukau DHB, won the top prize in the new ideas category for his proposal, a smart preoperative system for elective surgery patients to make their pathway visible to the entire multidisciplinary team.
