The South Pacific Private hospital in NSW has upgraded its CareRight implementation with Clintel Systems to introduce digital access to My Health Record.

South Pacific Private General Manager Leah Hammond said the hospital had operated a full CareRight EMR since 2016 and digital integration with My Health Record has significantly improved efficiencies for the healthcare facility.

“The My Health Record integration has streamlined the management of patient information making it easier for our healthcare providers to access and also provide critical data quickly and securely,” Ms Hammond said.

“This has led to reduced paperwork, faster decision-making and most importantly coordination between professionals for safe transfer of patient clinical care.

“As a result, patient care has become more timely and accurate, while administrative burdens have been minimised, allowing for a more efficient use of resources across the board.”

New features

Clintel says it is continually enhancing its CareRight integration with My Health Record (MHR), enabling hospitals, allied health services, and healthcare providers to access and contribute to Australia’s national digital health infrastructure.

CareRight users can view and upload critical patient information, including prescriptions, specialist letters, and discharge summaries, directly from their workflow. In the latest My Health Record integration development users can upload discharge letters as PDFs, or with one click add medications from a shared health summary.

Clintel first integrated MyHR in 2023 and has continued to progress the integration in line with legislation and client needs.

Real-time visibility

Clintel says the CareRight platform enables clinicians to have real-time visibility of medications, pathology, radiology, allergies, immunisations, and discharge summaries from across Australia’s healthcare system.

It also automatically uploads prescriptions, letters, and discharge summaries with full support for version control. CareRight supports NASH certificate integration, HI Service connectivity, secure session control, and audit trails, ensuring confidence in both privacy and performance.

“By reducing duplication of tests, avoiding medication errors, and ensuring clinicians are working from the same source of truth, CareRight enables a higher standard of coordinated care,” a spokesperson said.

“With step-by-step setup guides for NASH certificates, HPI-O registration, and internal role-based access control, Clintel assists administrators to configure the system to meet organisational needs.”

The spokesperson said CareRight’s MHR integration was now available to all existing clients.
