NSW will move away from small-scale pilots and begin to embed sustainable telehealth services into the state's health system under a new five-year telehealth implementation strategy that has been aligned with a larger 10-year eHealth strategy for NSW that is set to be released next month.
NSW Health Minister Jillian Skinner (pictured) told the Australian Telehealth Conference in Sydney yesterday that the NSW telehealth framework and implementation strategy 2016-2021 would provide a system by which telehealth will be sustainably incorporated into patient care across the state in a variety of settings, including hospitals, primary healthcare, aged care, allied health and community settings, and in consumers' homes.
