The federal Department of Health is working with practice management software vendors to integrate the National Cancer Screening Register (NCSR) into their systems, providing direct access to patient screening histories for the cervical and bowel cancer screening programs.

The department is also developing a healthcare provider portal that will enable healthcare providers to use the NCSR for the submission of results, to access patients’ screening histories, and manage participant details and status on behalf of their patients.
