InterSystems has launched IntelliCare, an AI-powered electronic health record (EHR) and healthcare information system designed to change the way clinicians, administrators, and patients engage with healthcare technology.

Introducing the EHR at HIMSS25 in Las Vegas this week, InterSystems says IntelliCare brings “next-generation AI capabilities to EHRs”, delivering streamlined workflows, reduced administrative burden, enhanced patient interactions, and improved operational efficiency—all while maintaining rigorous human oversight for accuracy and safety.

IntelliCare, which integrates AI-driven intelligence across clinical, administrative and financial workflows, is available in the Middle East, Oceania, Latin American, and Southeast Asian markets.

Built on InterSystems TrakCare electronic medical record, IntelliCare was designed specifically for healthcare systems undergoing “rapid digital transformation and seeking modern, seamlessly connected solutions without the constraints of legacy systems”.

InterSystems head of global healthcare solutions Don Woodlock.

InterSystems head of global healthcare solutions Don Woodlock said: “IntelliCare represents the next step in the evolution of EHRs.

“By building an EHR solution with AI at its core, we’re helping healthcare providers focus on what matters: More face time with patients and less screen time.

“IntelliCare is based on three key assumptions: First is that clinicians shouldn’t have to think like computers to take care of patients.

“The second is generative AI gives us the opportunity to transform the EHR user experience, and third InterSystems has a strong foundation on which to create a reimagined EHR. There are more than a billion health records around the world managed using our technology.

“It’s a more natural partnership. Users can expect significantly fewer clicks for clinicians, a user workflow augmented with AI, ambient services, and data summarisation. There is AI-assisted coding to reduce physician burden and to help with billing processes and a patient digital experience that is immersive and engaging.

“Patients and providers will be able to interact with each other during encounters instead of with the computer.

“The documentation and interaction with the EHR will be automated with ambient audio recording.

“The clinician workload is significantly decreased and organisations will be more productive.”

EMC Healthcare President Director Jusup Halimi said AI was a seismic shift in healthcare technology. “With its advanced AI functionality and decades of proven reliability, InterSystems IntelliCare was the obvious choice to provide our hospitals with the most advanced solution available.”
