The Australian government has promised $301.8 million in funding in next week’s federal budget to continue the operation of the My Health Record system, along with $200.1 million to overhaul myGov.
The government says the money is aimed at enhancing the My Health Record and expanding the “digital identity system”, but it is unclear as to whether it is money for new features or for continuing operations.
The last big funding boost for My Health Record was in 2019, when money was provided for its ongoing operation to Accenture until the end of the 2021 financial year.
