The WA government has issued a tender for the $53.7 million redevelopment of Newman Health Service in the Pilbara, promising a significant upgrade to clinical facilities to form a new purpose-built hospital featuring telehealth and videoconferencing capabilities.
With the nearest major hospital 450 kilometres away in South Hedland, the redevelopment aims to give the community access to telehealth technology and connect local clinicians to specialist care in the metro area.
