NSW Health will complete and optimise the roll-out of electronic medical records, implement a common pathology messaging model, develop an online appointment scheduling system and build requirements for eReferral tracking and alerting as part of its 10-year eHealth strategy, released on Tuesday.
The strategy outlines three-, seven- and 10-year views or 'horizons' in which NSW Health hopes to achieve a number of clinical and corporate implementations, building on the 2013 Blueprint for eHealth in NSW, which set out how the $400 million budgeted for eHealth in the Coalition government's first budget would be spent.
