DoH extends ERRCD hosting as states haggle over costed proposal

The federal Department of Health has agreed to extend funding for the infrastructure and hosting costs for the Electronic Recording and Reporting of Controlled Drugs (ERRCD) system for a further year as discussions continue with the states and territories over a costed plan to roll out the system.

As Pulse+IT reported last week, the plan to roll out ERRCD, which is based on Tasmania's DORA real-time prescription monitoring system, on a national scale has come to a standstill, with only Victoria allocating significant resources to a full implementation.
