The federal Department of Health has agreed to extend funding for the infrastructure and hosting costs for the Electronic Recording and Reporting of Controlled Drugs (ERRCD) system for a further year as discussions continue with the states and territories over a costed plan to roll out the system.
As Pulse+IT reported last week, the plan to roll out ERRCD, which is based on Tasmania's DORA real-time prescription monitoring system, on a national scale has come to a standstill, with only Victoria allocating significant resources to a full implementation.
