The big ticket items in the 2021-22 federal budget for digital health are the previously announced funds under the government’s $1.2 billion digital economy strategy for enhancements to the My Health Record system and myGov.
There is also funding for digital health measures in the government’s $17.7 billion response to the Royal Commission into Safety and Quality in Aged Care, along with the extension of MBS item numbers for telehealth, and money for digital mental health services under the $2 billion national mental health and suicide prevention plan.
