Few recipients of Commonwealth-funded home care packages (HCP) use online resources such as the My Aged Care portal or the internet in general to find and compare information about their package, and less than a quarter were using the My Aged Care Contact Centre to find information, a new survey has found.
The report, prepared by the Consumer Policy Research Centre (CPRC) from research undertaken with the University of South Australia (UniSA), agrees with the interim report of the aged care Royal Commission that the My Aged Care website is not delivering on the original aims of the Productivity Commission.
